TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date15-16 November 1917
Extent2 papers, 1 envelope
DescriptionE H Shepard says that he is writing this letter while in a empty house in a village that they took by force. He writes that he and Hughes are having a final glass of wine at a cafe around the corner before turning in. He says that the village is uninhabited and they can only just hear the guns firing in the distance. He tells Florence that he is out of the dangerous area, and is likely to be so for nearly a month as they are travelling ever so far. Shepard writes that if this is the last letter he can post then Florence will know that all is well. He writes that he is sending Florence some sketches
