TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date19 November 1917
Extent4 papers, 1 envelope
DescriptionE H Shepard writes that it is terribly exciting to be travelling through such thrilling places with warm sunshine. He writes that all the people are quite unused to seeing English soldiers so they are cheered everywhere and got apples and olives thrown at them. He describes the local landscape, including mountains in the distance with snow, vineyards and oxen drawing carts. He writes that they are living very well, he is making friends with the old ladies, and he bought a chicken the previous day after much bargaining
