DescriptionE H Shepard writes that he does not feel quite so depressed as he did the previous day, as being in command means that he will be able to attend to matters himself. Shepard writes that Hughes has been detached on another job. He writes that he has a new dug out that has to be pumped clear of water every three to four days but it has plenty of room and they have a trench pump. Shepard writes that he will play patience after he has finished the letter and comments that the the kitten is becoming quite domesticated
