TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date24-25 December 1917
Extent1 paper
DescriptionE H Shepard writes that he wonders if the cardigan is finished yet and he will be so pleased to have it. He writes that he hasn't heard a shot for hours. He went with Hughes to the little telephone post they have near the guns on top of the little hill in a copse of oak trees. They talked about Christmas as home. They have managed to get the turkeys and the pork for the men, and also apples, nuts, cabages and English beer.

Shepard writes that he doesn't like Florence being 'a poor worried girl' and he often feels 'this is all such utter waste of time, when we might be together and doing all sorts of things - I sometimes feel I can't stand it another minute'.
