DescriptionE H Shepard apologises that Florence has had to wait so long for a letter from him, but he suspects that they will all arrive in one bunch

Shepard says that he sees that it has been officially announced in the papers that they have moved to the mountains, but he suspects that Florence must have already guessed it before now anyway. He describes the progress they have made on the new hut. He says that lorries arrived with Italian huts in sections, and whilst the Italian picquet were round their fire he and Major Hughes snuck up and stole quite a bit of the wood

He writes he is glad that 'Frog' is so well and that he likes school so much now and he has the best term to come. Shepard says that he hopes to get home in the summer
