TitleLetter from E H Shepard to Florence Eleanor Shepard
Date25 Feb 1919
Extent2 papers, 1 envelope
DescriptionDried flowers included. EHS, Hughes and the major have been to dinner in Padova, went to a "bloodthirsty cinema show", and the theatre ("The barometer of love"). The major left on a crowded train with his luggage and Hughes and EHS went back in the car. EHS has to go to a court of enquiry tomorrow. The new padre (who has taken old Parkins place at the church army hut) is a good sort; he used to live in St. Johns Wood close to EHS's old home, and was curate to a church off the Fulham Road, "so knows all our places well". At present he is at Willesden, and EHS remarks on his broadmindedness. EHS speaks of his perfect morning, wandering and finding some fat snowdrops - he includes some in his letter. He needs to find a dentist (loose front crown). He has received a letter from Frog today, he seems very cheery; Pussy seems alright now too.
