DescriptionPen-and-ink drawing of an room in an Edwardian house with dark walls, artwork hanging, and ornate furnitute. A group of mostly adults (and a girl, far right of the crowd) standing in the background turn to look at two boys in Lord Fauntleroy suits [foreground right] who have fallen over a suit of armour. It is signed "E.H. Shepard" in the bottom left [partly obscured by frame] and the title appears as a caption in pencil in Shepard's handwriting, bottom. Originally framed: there is a partly ripped-away and/or obscured sticker for an art exhibiton, underneath which it is annotated "Ernest H. Shepard Woodmancote Lodsworth Sussex "Turned and stared at us" £8.8." in biro in Shepard's handwriting on the back of the frame. Size: 36.5x27.5 cm.
