DescriptionOne scrapbook containing news cuttings and cuttings from dance journals/magazines relating to Ludmila Mlada's performances (both independently and with the Ballets Jooss) and her involvement in various events (mainly school visits). Many of the cuttings are reviews of her performances/recitals or short articles about her and include portrait images.

The cuttings have been arranged according to month and year beginning August 1957-February 1969 and those that are from the press are from across the U.K and Poland.

Several cuttings featuring Mlada and other members of the Jooss-Leeder school from Dance and Dancers. Similar cuttings from The Stage and The Dancing times.

Several short articles relating to her involvement in the Edinburgh Festival (1957); write-ups of Modern Dance Evenings and the Sigurd Leeder Studio Group; a two part series on 'Basic Ballet Make-up' from Dance and Dancers 'So you Want to Dance?' (February 1958) and 'Basic Ballet Make-up: 2' (March 1958) which Mlada was interviewed for and wrote the concluding article; reviews by A.V. Coton, Fernau Hall; a Review of 'Lylia' from Dance & Dancers, January 1959 including an image; an article regarding the Camberwell Arts Council programme of Music and Dance under the direction of Jane Winearls where Mlada performed Two angels, Gabriel and Lucifer featured in The Dancing Times, March 1959, the article includes an image of Mlada in Pavane and Galliarde [sic] (by Leeder); article from "Plays & Players" (November 1960) regarding Mlada's choreography for Christopher Columbus.
In many cuttings Mlada is featured with Sheila Thomas. One article from The Daily Telegraph (14 December 1967) regarding the death of poet Mrs Dorothy Ratcliffe (Dorothy Una Ratcliffe) who was Mlada's Auntie.
