DescriptionOne book of Anita Heyworth's notes taken at The Jooss Leeder School of Dance summer School at Dartington Hall 4-31 August, 1937. Written over 189 numbered pages the notes include a list of Madge Atkinson students and Dartford students whom Heyworth took to the course. There are extensive notes on technique from Lisa Ullmann's and Sigurd Leeder's lessons, notes on lectures in Eukinetiks and Choreutics from Leeder, notes from Kurt Jooss on his lectures entitled 'Language of the Body'. Notes on lectures given by F. A. Cohen in 'Style in Dance and Music' and notes from lectures given by Ullmann on 'Principles of Dance Teaching'.

The notes include laban notation and symbols/illustrations are used to record movement sequences. Pages 164-165 include twelve black and white photographs of a dancer performing 'The "A" Scale Schlage Swings'.

A programme/booking form for the course was contained within the notebook along with an article extracted from The Dance Journal by Derra De Moroda entitled 'Lecture on the Artistic and Educational Principles of the Jooss-Leeder School of Dance and the Ballets Jooss' (notes from a lecture delivered by Jooss at the end of the Natural Movement Branch day) Sept. 1938, new series, Vol. X, No. 3, pp 195-200.
