Description | Nine copies of a pocket size University Diary issued for personal use and for the following academic years: 1967/68 - 1973/1974 and 1987/88-1988/89. Besides the usual calendar pages a number of pages at the front of the diary carried University information including dates of terms; telephone numbers; hours of opening of University buildings; details of University facilities such as the Health Centre and Student Residences; names of University and Student Union officers; names of Professors and Heads of Departments; details of University committees and the dates of meetings during the year. The 1988/89 issue, a joint publication with the Students' Union, included details of student clubs and societies; student welfare services and the Student Union Club. |
Administrative History | First issued in 1967, by the 1980s the diary had been running at a loss for a number of years. In an effort to minimise losses it was published jointly with the Students' Union in 1988. As it still proved necessary for a significant University subsidy it was decided to discontinue publication in the interest of economy and the issue for 1988-1989 was the last produced.
