Behind is a building with scaffolding and construction going on the second level.Rising above the rear of this building is a tower crane with its arm/ jib extended to the right and the pulley/ hook block hanging down into the upper right hand side of the photo. There is another, smaller boom crane on the left of the tower crane, with its arm/ boom pointing to the left. On the left in the foreground is a large ditch with building foundations inside. Over the top of a low wall with curved metal rods protruding from it, some internal wooden walls/ divisions can be seen. Two men are working near a wooden structure with four wooden posts which stand above the men. On the far left, a site workman (wearing no top) is leaning in to the photo and smiling at the camera. In the centre of the photo is another university building, further on in its construction stage. It has large gaps/ spaces for windows and has scaffolding around the outside. Just to the right of the building, before the parked white van, is a pile of bricks with a long pole resting on top and a ladder resting behind. Further back still and higher up is another building which has at least five floors so far and gaps left for windows. In the central background, a large deciduous tree stands higher than the university buildings with Guildford Cathedral directly behind it. The circular window and cross on the end of the cathedral building is visible facing to the left of the photo. |
