| Activity | Dancer, teacher and choreographer, trained in London with Marie Rambert, she formed the Cork Ballet Company in 1947, and set up the Irish Theatre Ballet in 1959 and the Irish National Ballet in 1974. She gained an honorary LLD from the National University for her services to ballet in Ireland in 1979 and a Harveys of Bristol Theatre Award in 1982 |
