To June 1919 they are handwritten. From July 1919 onwards they are typescript.
The minutes regularly reported staffing matters including details of appointments, promotions, salary increases, retirements and absences; financial and funding matters with detailed lists of accounts from 1941; new courses and alterations to courses; events and entertainments; student activities including examination successes, sporting facilities and the conditions and maintenance of student residences.
The volumes often contain extracts from printed reports or typed minutes from sub-committees which have been pasted into the book. Each volume has an index of subjects. The format changed in July 1919 when the minutes were entirely typewritten with a manuscript index.
Minute books were not produced after October 1962.
