Administrative History | The Oracle was a student magazine produced by the Battersea Polytechnic Social Union, which was formed in 1905 and appears to have been a precursor body to the Students' Representative Councils. Accounts of the formation of the Social Union, and the decision to publish The Oracle, are contained in the first issue of the magazine, dated 19 March 1906. The Oracle ceased publication in July 1907. |

Physical Description | Published on very thin paper using a rotary duplicator process, with a few black and white pen and ink drawings. The binding of the volume indicates that the contents are March 1906 to April 1907. However, the latest issue is dated as July 1907. Issue no 7, December 1906 has been bound as the last item at the back of the volume. |
