DescriptionThe series comprises bound volumes of 'The Battersea Polytechnic Magazine', a magazine produced and published by the Students' Representative Councils of day and evening students. The magazine included reports and articles pertaining to student life including those relating to student societies and clubs, academic and social activity, and notable events such as prize-givings and staff changes. It also included news from former students, poems, cartoons and other literary contributions and is well illustrated with many contemporary photographs.

An index was included to the contents at the end of Volumes V, VI and VII.
Administrative HistoryThe Battersea Polytechnic Magazine was a student magazine produced by the Battersea Polytechnic Students' Representative Councils. The first edition of the magazine appeared in July 1908 at a cost of 2d and was published six times a year. By 1916 the number of issues had been reduced to 4 per year and was further reduced to 3 by 1922. In December 1931 the magazine was renamed and re-issued as 'Polygon' following difficulties in obtaining original contributions.
