Description | Series comprises bound volumes of the student magazine 'The Polygon', produced by Battersea Polytechnic Students' Representative Council, and later by the Students' Union. Produced on an annual basis, the content of 'The Polygon' included reports and articles relating to student academic and social life (academic departments and dances); reports from student clubs and societies (drama, sport and activities e.g. rambling and debating); original poems and other literary offerings. The volumes were illustrated with contemporary photographs and drawings.
The series is believed to comprise a full run of the publication, no issues having been produced in 1954, 1961 and 1963. |
Administrative History | 'The Polygon' (later known simply as 'Polygon' and, for its final issue, 'The Battersea College of Technology Magazine', was a student publication produced on an annual basis by the Battersea Polytechnic Students' Representative Council, and later by the Students' Union. It was a successor publication to the 'Battersea Polytechnic Magazine', and was essentially similar in form and content. |
