| Administrative History | 'Manor Farm Gazette', later known as 'Gazet', was a student news sheet published by Battersea College of Technology Students' Union. It was a successor to 'Bat Chat', which it resembled in content and form.
Following a dispute with the Union executive, the 'Manor Farm Gazette' ceased publication in October 1964 and its editorial team was removed. The new editorial team rebranded the news sheet as 'Gazet', under which name it continued to operate for the remainder of 1964. It ceased publication for good at the end of year,and was succeeded by the 'Surrey Student' in early 1965.
Note: the 'Manor Farm Gazette' presented itself as a successor publication to both 'Bat Chat' and the 'Stag Hill Observer'. Little is known about the latter publication, and no copies survive in the archive. It is possible that this was briefly a name adopted by the 'Manor Farm Gazette' before settling on its subsequent name. |
