Description | A note to a relative [possibly not in Ernest Shepard's handwriting] reading "[Underlined: For Nevile] The miniatures are, one of Mr. Watts who was an architect in London. The other miniature is that of his second wife, who was mother of Mrs De St. Croix. We are descended from Mr. Watts [sic] first wife, whose daughter Louisa was second wife of Mr. James Shepard + who left five children, Ann, Louisa, John [or possibly Tom], Peter + Elizabeth". The paper is folded and has "Re Miniatures" written in pencil on the right side of the verso. |
