| Description | Graham Thomas of the University of Kent writes that when he visited E H Shepard the previous summer, Shepard gave him two Punch cartoons, and a third for the University of Kent. Thomas confirms that he is still working with colleagues to publish a volume of essays entitled 'Political Caricature'. He writes that negotiations between the University of Kent and Associated Newspapers have resulted in the deposit of approximately 20,000 original cartoons at the University Library. Thomas says that the University is setting up a permanent Cartoon Study Centre, and ask to borrow a selection of Shepard's original Punch drawings for an exhibition. |
