Description | Pencil sketch of a man in a greatcoat covered in [mud?], wearing a Brodie helmet with a background of devastation behind him. The bottom left corner has the annotation "Self Portrait Ernest H. Shepard Feb 5th 1974" in black biro in Shepard's handwriting. It may date instead to 1939-1944 [while Shepard served with the LDV/Home Guard]. |
