Description | Lilla Bauer was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1912 and became one of the principal dancers in the Ballet Jooss, Kurt Jooss's company, where she performed the role of "young girl" in The Green Table in the 1930s. She left Hungary in 1938, accomapnying Ballet Jooss to Dartington Hall, England. She went to teach at Goldsmiths' College in London, retiring in the early 1970s. At Goldsmith's she taught both Modern Dance and Labanotation. She died in 2011, aged 99.
