DescriptionGrand Musical Matinee for the purpose of sending Christmas Comforts direct to the Belgian Soldiers in the Trenches. 'This concert is given under the auspices of The Manchester Belgian Funds Committee registered under the War Charities Act. Co organisers: Mrs. Manners and W. Roberts-Marshall.' Performance of Au Bal Masque (title has been underlined in red pen) with a synopsis, cast list and list of dances including Minuet; Sarabande; Entree; Bouree; Contre Danse; Rigaudon. 'The dances in this scene are taken from the ciphers of M.Fenillet, Dancing-Master to Louis XIV. and his Royal Ballet.' Performance includes Miss Madge Atkinson as Mlle Subligny, Miss Margaret Dean as M.Balon and a cast of 'Hostesses and Guests'. The programme also includes a series of musical performances (songs, violin solos, recitals, harp solos, pianoforte solos). Leaflet enclosed is a copy of a letter to the editor from "The Daily Chronicle" Monday, October 18th, 1915 entitled The Heroines of Pervyse calling for the women of England to raise funds for two women working with wounded soldiers in the village of Pervyse.
