The name in the front reads Jolanche [sp] Routledge 21 October 1876, Manchester. Some of the writings have been stuck into the book and others handwritten onto the pages. The original label for the book read 'Mr Atkinson Note books and news cuttings no.7'. Other loose material includes a poem called Misplaced Sympathy by Chas. Godfrey Leland, a handwritten poem by JB, and the suede original cover for the notebook with the initials MA on. In the front of the book is a list of contents written by Anita Heyworth. |
