| Description | Dresses worn for Brahms Rhapsody (Heyworth). Made from a thick cotton the dresses have tunic style tops with a simple round neckline and thick shoulder straps. There are hook and eye fastenings at one side and two darts at the front and the back of the top. The skirt is flared and asymmetric, from mid thigh at one side to mid-calf at the other. All edges are unhemmed. The dresses have been dyed in muted pink, grey and purple colours. Six of the dresses have ragged hemlines and a note by Anita Heyworth found in the original box explains that: 'After I retired from College - these costumes were returned to me as follows 16 [14] dresses, 4 [6] dresses had been used for some other dance, and torn up in places to look ragged - which has spoilt the original set of 22. 2 dresses missing presume lost!' She also expresses her sadness that more care had not been taken of her original costumes for her group dance Brahms Rhapsody.
