| Description | Photo taken outside looking on to an open, muddy space on a hill with a slight incline (lower left hand side, rising to the right hand side). There are different levels within this slope - a short way ahead of the photographer is a wide trench/ ditch, supported by wooden planks held against the sides by metal rods. There is a wooden post/ beam resting across the top of the trench at the end nearest the photographer. On the left of the trench is a muddy road/ track with the front of a small parked van visible (far right), a crane (further back) and two small digging vehicles/ diggers in front of a high pile of large blocks. On the right hand side of the trench is a flattened off level surface covered in various constructions materials (e.g. wooden planks/ boards and metal rod structures) an oil drum, a bucket, two wheelbarrows and a piece of surveying equipment with a tripod structure. Two men are working in this area and there is a ladder propped up against the side, near the trench. On the right of the levelled surface is a short wall with many wooden posts sticking up above it, along its length. Behind this surface is another levelled surface, raised above the height of the first and again, a wall running along the right hand side of this (with a man working at it). On the right hand side of these levelled sections is a muddy bank which leads to a road and some white wooden huts/ cabins are near the further point of this, with a mini parked outside. Another bank/ mound of earth can be seen after the road on the far right of the photo (and the bare branches of a tree protruding into the photo above this). Behind the levelled sections, another car is parked and two men are standing by it. Just behind the trench and in line with the upper levelled surface, the road area expands and three men are walking on it. In the distance, many trees and some houses can be seen beneath the cloudy skies. |
