Description | Photo taken on muddy construction site looking in the direction of the library. Senate House is the closest building, on the right hand side. Though much of the outer building work in Senate House is complete, and windows are installed, the lower staircase is still visible side on. Behind Senate House, other university buildings can be seen with some scaffolding around them. In the foreground, directly beneath the photographer's viewpoint, are piles of scaffolding rods, behind which a long ridge of piled up earth stretches away from the photographer. There are some large rocks visible in the end of this mound, in the foreground. On the left of the raised mound is some more level muddy ground, which a road/ track snacking through it and past a tall, bare branched tree. In between the raised ridge and Senate House is an area of ground which is being evened out/ levelled for building on. There is a digger in the back of this area. In the front section of it there is a square of flat, solid surface visible and a long wooden post cuts the already levelled area in two. Three spades are upright here. To the left of the levelled area, just before the raised ridge, a small wall has been erected with wooden posts spaced evenly across its back, differing lengths and some poking above the wall level. There is a piece of equipment like a transit/ theodolite, on a tripod, before the small wall. In the background, two rows of temporary white wooden huts/ cabins are visible, before more university buildings. |
