Date | March 1968 |
Extent | 1 black and white photograph |

Description | Photo taken from muddy ground, looking towards Senate House, which has much of its outer structure and brickwork complete, except for the section with the wide staircase on a lower level. Most of the windows are in though there is one window section which has been left open on the top floor. On the third level from the top, a man is working on the thin ledge outside the windows on the left of the building. He has no hard hat or safety equipment on. In the foreground, before Senate House is an area of ground which is being evened out/ levelled for building on, covered in concrete. There is a digger near the back of this area. In the foreground on the right is a stack of tiles and some metal rod structures. Behind this is an open muddy space where two workers are walking towards Senate House. Behind this space/ Senate House are more university buildings. A field with trees can be seen on the right of the photo. |
Related Material | US/PH/1/2/64 - very similar viewpoint but this photograph was taken slightly later when more of the levelled surface in front and to the left had been covered with concrete. |
