DescriptionOne ink drawing on card depicting stereotypes of the enemy forces and their allies. Six small sketches show humorous scenes featuring increasing numbers of individuals from one to six. This may be a parody of the carol 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'.
Drawing published in 'Punch' magazine almanack in 1916 together with Part Two (ST/5/2/6).
Captions read: 'One omnipotent oberburgomeister overflowing ostend ; Two triumphant Teutons toasting (or tight?) "Tags" ; Three trusting Turks trying to Teutonise ; Four fearsome forebears frightening father ; Five farsighted fatherlands foraging in Flanders ; Six svelte subordinates saluting somebody'.
