DescriptionOne ink drawing on card depicting stereotypes of the enemy forces and their allies. Four small sketches show humorous scenes featuring increasing numbers of individuals from seven to ten. This may be a parody of the carol 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'.
Drawing published in 'Punch' magazine almanack in 1916.
Captions read: 'Seven saturated submariners strafing sandbanks ; Eight elemental egoists endeavouring to eat "early piece" ; nine nonpolitic noblemen negotiating naughty neutrals ; Ten tortuous tempters telegraphing tarradiddles to Turkey'.
