DescriptionView of the university library from the east side, looking out towards it from the roof of one of the academic buildings over the walkway from it. Part of the roof is visible on the right hand side of the photo. The library building has much of its outer structure complete though there is scaffolding up around two protruding blocks on the end, with gaps where glasswork has yet to be filled in. There is a timber frame hanging from one of the end blocks near the scaffolding. In the foreground on the left is a one level building which has its roof on and pillars visible though no walls or windows yet. There are piles of roof tiles dotted on top and two men are working in the corner of a raised section of roof, with a slatted top. Between the academic building and this lower level one, is an area marked out by a wall which is full of construction debris and a couple of wooden corner frames. There is also a long walkway covered in concrete which has little stacks of bricks at even spacings. On the left of the library is a road where a car is parked, close to the building, and on the other side of this is a row of white wooden temporary huts on a raised bank. Further left again, at the edge of the photo, is the corner of another building. On the other side of this is another road traveling uphill away from the library, which has a white car parked on and more piles of construction debris. Behind this and stretching behind the library is a large grassy field area, with trees around the edges.
