DateApril 1968
Extent1 black and white photograph
Name of CreatorP. Norman Button
DescriptionView from inside one of the labs, near an outer wall with windows where lots of light is streaming through. A workbench with various taps extending from the top runs down the right hand side near the windows. On the other side of this is a walkway which extends down through an open doorway, into another room where a packet of construction material is standing next to a bucket. On the wall on the right of the doorway are two boxes with wires coming from them, fed into a wire tidy box just beneath. The first box near the doorway is a very small white one and the second, on the right is much larger with its front panel off exposing the insides. Across from the workbenches and on the left of the open doorway, stand three units made from wood and supported by metal legs beneath. The units have a hollowed out cube section and below these are panels with dials and knobs protruding from it. There are some pipes/ glass tubes coming beneath these units, towards the back, and some of these lead to a large glass container shaped like an upside down lightbulb. On the left hand side of the photo is an internal wall with another open doorway visible, leading into a darkened room. In the foreground on the floor are scraps of materials e.g. a thin wooden plank, a coil of white wire, some plastic wrapping and a cylinder roll. Above the first and last wooden units, there is a ceiling panel removed/ left open.
Physical Description255mm x 194mm. Good; some finger prints visible on the photo face and the indent of the number recorded in biro pen on the back shows through on the front.
